Danny DeLeon's solo pieces for piano are a persistent tug of unrelenting memories. Minimal in their approach, their bare, twisted forms dance in and out of perfect sync with each other. A new step here, another there, constantly shifting but always familiar. The vestiges of the past tangle the tension between silent space and bombastic chordal arrangements as guided by an unseen hand too tired to lead the way forever. Now holed away in it's solitary mountain retreat, the ghost of Danny DeLeon can finally rest by the lake for a spell, wait for the snow to fall and just watch for awhile.
