Composed for late nights alone in a crowd, on an unlit highway or lost in one's own mind, Kevin Greenspon blends lush ambient sound design, aquatic dub techno and atmospheric house to sculpt a surreal world vaguely resembling the empty concrete courtyards of our own cities. An exploration into the space between emotions, "Mood Recovery" consists of cascading ribbons of tape hiss wrapped into static while seismic sub frequencies ripple deep under clattering scrapyard rhythms and gritty echoes. Throughout the journey, a contemplative shadow is cast over each moody arrangement, climaxing in a frantic rush to escape the dark.

Drifting notes are culled from the space between branches, pain and regret are washed away in a stream, uncertainty left behind as footsteps on an unmarked path.

Arbitration Pattern In Two Parts

On "Arbitration Pattern In Two Parts" and current live sets, Kevin Greenspon explores the irreconcilable differences a person finds within their self and their constantly morphing public presentation as they pass through varying environments and relationships. Greenspon's live setup renders video projections from synths and drum patterns, sees its own creation in real-time, and then feeds this visual input back to influence the personality of an open-ended song structure.

The A-side's deep mix of "Tuning The Mask" presents a cloaked figure gradually emerging from a slow and murky mix, taking shreds of influence from dub techno, trance, ambient and other electronic genres rooted in subtly shifting repetition. The B-side's live edit of a performance at Pehrspace in Los Angeles showcases a different attitude with a barren outlook on the horizon: familiar mixing elements are re-arranged into a chaotic burst and a sparser fallout.

"Happy All The Time Forever Always" captures the multifaceted tug of war between wistful longing, uncertainty, excitement and relief with delicate strokes of smooth and grainy tones scattering down like rays of light from behind a rapidly dissipating cloud, a reminder that there's something good on the other side and that it's not so far away anymore.

Over the course of two sidelong compositions, Theodore Schafer processes the sound of piano mallets and presents an opportunity to eavesdrop on a private recital. Notes ring and bounce to softened rhythms, disassembled and rearranged with the scale of the keys swirling around a focal point that can't quite be determined. The two pieces convey drastically different senses of space. "Garden Loop" moves like shadows cast by a lantern in the moonlit courtyard, turning around corners and enveloping gaps in places that were once visible. "Nola" hovers like an omnipresent aura, always close by but only detectable as a distant cloud.
